Commitment to Human Rights.

The law firm Gleicher, Canêdo & Chagas Advogados recognizes that its work can have an impact on the people and communities with which it interacts. Therefore, we have made a formal commitment to respecting human rights in all aspects of our activity.

Our Understanding

Human rights are basic rights inherent to every person, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, social class, religion, physical characteristics, or any other condition. They include, among others, the right to life and liberty, freedom of opinion and expression, decent work, education, and well-being.

References and Fundamentals

Our commitment is guided by the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights of the United Nations (UN) and encompasses the rights recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the International Labour Organization's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

Practical Application

We integrate respect for human rights into our sustainable development strategy. This commitment is reflected in how we conduct our operations, our relationships with employees, customers and suppliers, and the values we promote in the workplace.

We have adopted measures to prevent and mitigate any potential negative impacts that the firm may be involved in, whether through its own activities or as a result of its business relationships.

Value Chain

Our commitment to human rights extends to our relationships with suppliers and partners. We require all members of our value chain to respect applicable labor standards, with particular attention to the prohibition of child labor, forced labor, or labor analogous to slavery.
